We are moving Summer Reading online this year!

This year we will be using a new platform called READsquared, but you can still track your progress on paper logs if you prefer.

To use READsquared, you will need to log on  at http://ltpl.readsquared.com to create an account for yourself and your family members, or download the READsquared app from the Google Play store or the Apple App store.

You will be able to track your time spent reading, complete “Missions” (similar to last year’s “Goals”), and earn points that can be redeemed for prizes!  Every minute you read is worth 1 Point, and you can read ANYTHING:  books, newspapers, magazine articles, ebooks, audiobooks, comics, closed captioned movies, cereal boxes, shampoo bottles, ANYTHING!

Missions are grouped into categories – “Connect”, “Create”, “Explore”, “Read”, “Log On” (eResources), and “Attend” (programs/events).   All activities are missions, whether thy are online (READsquared) or on paper.  Most missions are worth 20 points.   Special eResource “Log On!” missions are worth 40 points each.  For each virtual library event that you participate in, you’ll complete an “Attend!” mission worth 100 points.

Both missions and time spent reading will accrue points, and every 200 points allows you to choose a prize from the online LTPL Prize Store!  LTPL staff will contact you when prizes are available to pick up from the library.  Prizes will be available between July 1st and August 31st.

Everyone who reaches 1000 points will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for one of many gift cards!

Registration is required for all Summer Reading Program events.  All registrants will receive a link to the Zoom session the day before the event.  Visit our event calendar here to register, and to see the full list of events this summer.
