Library FAQ's
  • Is the library open to the public?
    • The library is open during our normal hours of operation:  Monday through Thursday, 10:00am-9:00pm, Friday & Saturday, 10:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Patrons are limited to short 30 minute visits to pick up and check out materials and use public computers.
  • Are public computers available?
    • Due to social distancing, there are 6 public computers available for use.  One 30 minutes computer session is allowed per patron per day, and with no extensions of time.
  • When can I pick up library items?
    • Items placed on hold can be picked up at the Circulation Desk, or by curbside pickup. Pickup is available Monday through Thursday, 10:00am-8:30pm, Friday & Saturday, 10:00am-4:30pm, and Sunday 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
  • Curbside Pickup Appointments
    • You are able to pick up library materials from the designated location outside of the library building. All holds are placed in a bag, labeled with your first initial and last name, and alphabetically sorted on tables in our pickup tent.
    • Please remain patient as we provide curbside pickup to everyone requesting library items. Some items may not be available due to necessary quarantine protocols.

  • Returns
    • You can return checked out items by placing them in the return bins in front of the library.
    • You can return items borrowed from other TLN system libraries at LTPL
    • Mobile Hotspots and Library of Things’ items must be returned to a staff member and not placed in the return box or cans. Please return these fragile items at the Circulation Desk inside the library.
    • All returns are put in a 4 day quarantine before circulating again.
  • I want to borrow more library stuff
  • I want to keep what I’ve borrowed (renewals)

  • I didn’t pick up my holds curbside on time, what happens?
    • We can reschedule your pickup time to a later date.
    • Holds are held for seven days. Once that time period passes, we put the library items back into circulation for the community.
  • Mobile Hotspots
    • Please do not return Mobile Hotspots in the outside return boxes/cans
    • Please return to the library Circulation Desk
  • How do I know about library updates?
    • The Library posts updated information on our website at: www.ltpl.org

      • LTPL has resumed our normal hours of operations

    • Apply for a Library Card
      • Please fill out the application here with the list of required information.
      • We will email your new library card number, and will send your library card to you after you verify your residency with your Driver’s License
    • Book Donations
      • We are not accepting any book donations at this time.
    • Technology Help
      • You can make a Zoom appointment to speak with our Technology Coordinator to receive one-on-one assistance regarding using the library services, troubleshooting email issues, and more.

    • Placing Holds

 

 

 

 

  • Printing/Faxing
    • On request, we can print or fax items that are emailed to: ltplprint@gmail.com with instructions.  You may also print at the library through our wifi connection.
  • Masks
  • Sanitation and Disinfecting
    • A cleaning crew regularly cleans the building once a day, at night.
    • Staff have disinfectant to use on library materials and equipment throughout the day
    • Disinfectant wipes and gel dispensers have been installed throughout the building for the public .
  • Social Distancing
    • Library guests will be asked to observe the recommended 6 feet apart for social distancing.
  • Events
    • All of our library programs/events are Virtual
    • Registration is required for all library events

    • We are using Zoom to livestream our events/presentations. To join, register for a specific event and you will receive the Zoom link.
    • Storytimes- are every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30am. They are livestreamed through Facebook Live on our Facebook page @LTPLMI
  • Community Center
    • The Community Center is being used for material quarantine & virtual programming. We are not scheduling private use at this time.
  • Internet
    • FREE WiFi is available in our parking lot and building.
    • Connect to LTPL Guest, or to LTPL T-Mobile Staff with PW LTPLstaff
  • Discovery Kits
    • All of the STEAM Discovery kits are available to request for curbside pickup by appointment. Browse our catalog to see what’s available: https://catalog.tln.lib.mi.us/?section=home

  • Library of Things

  • Fines
    • LTPL is a fine-free library
    • During the library’s State-mandated closure, library cardholders did not accrue any fines from LTPL. All due dates were extended as Federal and State Executive orders were issued or updated/extended.
