The Lyon Township Public Library Books & Brews Discussion Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

April’s book is  “The Essex Serpent” by Sarah Perry.  Join us on April 9 for our discussion at Tucker’s Kitchen & Bar (formerly New Hudson Cafe), 56849 Grand River Avenue, New Hudson, MI 48165.

Please join us for lively, opinionated discussions.  Just ask for the book at the front desk – there are copies available for everyone.  We welcome all readers & ideas!  Check our website for updates and join our online discussion forum on Goodreads.

There will be no class on March 7, 14 and 21.

Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Community Center

Check the calendar for complete program dates!
Classes are free, please bring your own exercise mat.

Gigong, a 5,000 year old system referred to as an “Ancient Chinese Secret of Health & Longevity” uses simple movement, breathing technique, and mental focus to cultivate internal energy. The class focuses on the power of Qigong for health, self-healing and longevity. An excellent way to manage stress, find balance and inner-harmony. Each class ends with a guided meditation.

Meet on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the W.K. Smith Community Center adjacent to the library. The former Bag Ladies of South Lyon, who make sleeping bags for the homeless, have now expanded their projects to sewing for hospitals, nursing homes, day care centers, or wherever there is a need. New members are encouraged to drop in for any or all of the meeting time.

For more information about this group, please contact Audrey at (248) 486-1927.

Meet the first Wednesday of each month at the W. K. Smith Community Center, adjacent to the library, at 12:30 p.m.
