The Friends of the Library is a non-profit group whose purpose is to support the Lyon township Public Library through volunteerism, fund-raising activities, and sponsorship of programs and services. Your membership offers you the opportunity to share thoughts, donate your time, or lend your talents. To contact the Lyon Township Friends of the Library, please email the library. Information about joining the Friends of the Lyon Township Library is also available by calling or visiting the library.

1. To maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries.
   
2. To assist in promoting knowledge of and participation in library needs.
   
3. To aid in providing funds to meet special library needs.
   
4. To support, supplement and cooperate with the library in developing services and facilities for the community.
   
5. To stimulate the gift of books, magazines, periodicals, desirable collections, endowments and bequests.
   
6. To provide a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and service.
   
7. To do all things possible to promote and foster the betterment of library services to the community.
   
8. To sponsor programs designed to add to the cultural life of the community.
   
9. To help ensure the continued existence of the Friends of the Library.

Used Book Sale

Twice yearly, in April and November, the Lyon Township Friends of the Library hold a used book sale. These are our most important fundraisers for raising money to assist the library with new fixtures, books, programming, and other needs. Please donate clean, sellable, used books in good condition at any time. Donations receipts are available on request.
Check our calendar for the dates of our next sale. Please volunteer for a two hour shift and find out how much fun it is to get involved with your library!

Book Bags

"Friends of the Library" book bags will soon be available for at the Circulation Desk in the Library. These sturdy bags are great for toting library books back and forth to the library, and much more. Proceeds from the sale of the book bags go directly to the purchase of books for the library!
