The John D. Simmons Career Center offers resources to help you make career decisions, strategize your job search, and uncover job listings. There are job-related books on choosing a career, changing careers, expanding your employment options, job hunting, resumes, cover letters, filling out job applications, and job interviewing.

Test Preparation Books

Test preparation books for aptitude tests, civil service exams, postal service exams, government careers, law enforcement exams, Armed Forces tests, and licensing and certification exams are available.

These materials may be checked out for one week.

Resume Preparation

All library public access computers are installed with Microsoft Office Suite 2007 for the preparation of resumes and cover letters.

A specialized Career Center computer is also available with Resume Maker software to guide you through the process of creating a resume.

Remember to spend a little bit of time organizing your resume materials, and reviewing your employment history before visiting the library. The library maintains Career Center resume and cover letter books that may be checked out or used at the library to assist you in preparing your resume.

Remember to save your resume and cover letter for future use. You may bring your own 3 1/2 inch disk, CD or USB flash drive, or you may purchase them at the library.
